The first step is to download the Bare Bones texture pack using this link, or the button below.

Within the versions tab in Modrinth, we are going to choose the desired version of the pack. In this guide, I will be using the 1.20 which is compatible with Minecraft’s newer version 1.20.6.

How to Install the Bare Bones Texture Pack for Minecraft

Once we downloaded the file in the previous step, head over to the Resource Packs folder for your Minecraft installation.

You can find this folder by opening the game, and pressing:

Options > Resource Packs > Open Pack Folder.

Now just drag and drop the .zip file of Bare Bones into this folder.

Head back into Minecraft and select your new Texture Pack and click the arrow next to it to activate it.

The pack might say “Incompatible” if you are using a different version of Minecraft than the one you downloaded the pack for. However, we recommend that you try running the texture pack, as it might still work with the version of Minecraft you are using.
